Manchester United delivered their best performance in the Premier League this season as they beat Chelsea 2-0 at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford scored United’s first goal as he shot past Begovic in the 7th minute after an exquisite pass from Ander Herrera. The Spaniard was at it again in the second half as his shot was deflected into the back of the Chelsea net.

The loss means Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table has now been cut to four points as Spurs keep closing in thanks to their current winning streak. Chelsea, however, should keep doing what they have done most of this season as their run in could be termed as much easier compared to Spurs’ who have to welcome both Arsenal and Manchester United at The Lane in May. Spurs on the other hand will hope that their key men will keep delivering so as to have a more realistic chance of winning the title should Chelsea slip.

Manchester United will now look forward to Thursday night’s crucial second leg fixture against Anderlecht at Old Trafford where they’ll need a commanding win so as to keep their hopes of playing in the Champions League next season alive. The two sides drew 1-1 in the first leg but Manchester United will have themselves to blame for not seeing out the game as they conceded late.
