England have lost their final game of the season after losing 3-2 to France in a thrilling friendly played at the Stade de France in Paris. The Three Lions started well after they went ahead in the 9th minute courtesy of Harry Kane, who had the captain’s armband on for the second time in a matter of days. Les Bleus however, managed to stage a comeback with goals from Samuel Umtiti and Djibril Sidibe putting the hosts 2-1 up at the break.

Three minutes after half time, England were awarded a spot kick after Raphael Varane was adjudged to have fouled Dele Alli and was sent off. Harry Kane stepped up again to put the visitors level at 2-2. France were not to be deterred and were inspired by the brilliant football displayed by Ousmane Dembele, Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe who gave the English defence a long night. This later paid off as Mbappe teed up Dembele to score the winner.

The French will face Netherlands in their next fixture scheduled for 31st August with England facing Malta the following day in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.
