Kenya’s leading betting firm SportPesa has made its entry into the Italian market by acquiring a majority shareholding stake in RCS Gaming, a licensed gaming operator in Italy. RCS Gaming is a subsidiary of the RCS Media Group. The deal will see RCS rename its Gazzabet brand to SportPesa. Adam Beighton, who will be in charge of the firm in Italy says the acquisition will present new opportunities for them to showcase to their current and future customers, the SportPesa culture.

SportPesa is now present in six countries around the globe and it has gained popularity due to the support it has given to clubs and sports events, Tanzania and Italy being the latest beneficiaries. Italy is the second largest online betting market in Europe, only behind the United Kingdom.

SportPesa has selected an All Star steam which is currently in Spain preparing for their fixtures against La Liga 2 side Cordoba CF, tomorrow and Sevilla Atletico, which is Sevilla’s reserve team on 22nd.
